COMMUNICATION SKILLS

language communication

We acknowledge that all people have the ability to communicate and may do so in a variety of ways. We recognize that even though our students are nonverbal, they are still able to communicate using alternative methods such as sign language, gestures, pictures, photographs, objects, or even devices that speak for them. The speech language pathologist works with the school team and parents to identify and enhance current communicative abilities of each student. Together, we strive to develop a system that allows the student to use the above modes throughout their daily routines, out in the community, and at home.
