Our school day is 9:25 – 3:35. Students are provided with door to door transportation via wheelchair busses with monitors providing specialized care when necessary. We follow the Boston Public School schedule. We have an extended year component of an additional 4 week summer program.
Close contact between families and school is maintained via communication notebooks, emails, and/or phone calls.
Our classrooms are spacious, well equipped, and air conditioned with adjacent bathrooms and changing facilities. Each room is supplied with variety of adapted equipment. Equipment and materials are ordered on an individual student need basis.
We recognize that all students have the potential to learn and have the right to access all aspects of life. Our comprehensive curriculum provides activities and opportunities to meet students’ individual needs. As a transdisciplinary team, we value the collaboration with our students’ families in the development and implementation of students’ individualized education programs.
We use a variety of methods to assess our students’ progress including the Carter Assessment Tool (CAT) and Pre-CAT, MCAS-Alternative Assessments, Daily Data, observations, and family communication.
